The MPT story is about a propensity for change. Almost everyone say so. Many people try. Only a few do. Making real innovation of product, process, service. In over 50 years of activity the vocation towards progress remains a constant for MPT Plastica and constant technological innovation is the key to seize new opportunities.
1972
MPT is born.
MPT was born from the intuition of four young entrepreneurs – Giovanni Meini, Silvano Bibbiani, Rodolfo Taviani and Nicola Piscicelli. The company initially operated in the field of metal casting and tool making for the footwear industry.
The 70's
Focus on footwear
Tools production increases and diversifies, two new production plants are added so that we have 2 mechanical workshops and 1 foundry. The production of plastic parts for the motorcycle industry, mainly supplied to Acerbis, joins the footwear industry related activities.
The 80's
Motorcycle expansion
The collaboration with the motorcycle sector and the Tuscan footwear industry are consolidated, triggering important technological investments: stamping presses, numerical control machinery and designers specialized in digital modeling. Very advanced tools and professional figures for the area and for the time.
1988
Collaboration with Piaggio
The Apecar starts the new era of MPT: specialized moldig for the motorcycle industry. The continuous research of technologician innovations, both hardware and software, allow to optimize the entire production chain: from tools construction to the supply of finished parts with high quality and high performance standards.
The 90's
Continuous innovation
The company’s facilities expand further. The technical department, specialized in 3D design to support both the tooling production and the injection molding department, play a fundamental role for the acquisition of new big clients: Piaggio is joined by Peugeot, Ducati, MV Agusta and Bimota.
Today
Automotive evolution
The expertise gained through the years allows the expansion beyond the domestic market thanks to new orders supplied to Fiat, Audi, Volkswagen, Rolls Royce, Volvo and Bentley. Automation, quality control and artificial intelligence are the focus of MPT to offer every customer a more complete and efficient support.
